School Agenda 21

The aim of this project is to provide students with a positive feeling about the environment. Furthermore, we will stimulate the sustainable development of our school and its surrounding areas, always taking into account all the education community.

What is the education for sustainable development?

In short, it is an education that wants to achieve the union, help to understand the situation of the world, create a sensible behaviour and make us take argued decisions; in other words, it is an education that encourages and creates respect to BIODIVERSITY and CULTURE VARIETY, besides allowing us to enjoy them.

How is it put into practise?

Every academic year or every two academic years, it is selected a subject about environment for the project. For example, we worked the subject WASTES for the academic years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, while we worked the subject MOBILITY for the academic years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

2010 – 11

This year 2010 is the “International year of Biodiversity” and that is the reason why we have decided to choose the Biodiversity as the subject of our work for the next two years.

There are lots of animals and plants around us, and we have realized that all of us depend on each other to continue living. Moreover, we have also realized that it is really important not to exterminate the variety of living animals and that we have to learn how to respect and look after the biodiversity.

Taking these two main objectives into account, we have already done and we are still doing lots of activities.
